Hi Everyone,
Back in December, a puppymill/hoarder in Montana was raided, and over 200 English Shepherds
(including about 50 pregnant females!) were taken into custody. They have waited 7 months in legal limbo to be awarded
into the National English Shepherd Rescue custody. English Shepherds are not a common breed, and a breeder this size
is unheard of--and has really thrown the super small group of folks who love this breed scrambling. Our Gwen was an
English Shepherd. Now that the dogs have been released and are being spayed and neutered, the group is in dire
need of help.
This is the story about the English Shepherds who were seized in Montana :
http://nesr.info/montana-operation-new-beginnings.htmlThe main page (all the pages in fact) have links that describe what the English Shepherd is like as a breed, foster
applications, adoption applications and the like. With nearly 200 dogs seized +the puppies born in captivity.
You can follow the link above to read the articles in the Billings Gazette about the situation as it progressed from December
to August and the drama that entailed...
I also have a link to a a blog by Heather Houlahan about the
Montana updates. She's a SAR person who has English Shepherds, and who has been organizing the rehab of these dogs.
